Gigi*s are the first line of footwear that can be customized with
one simple strap change, offering a unique variation to the popular Mary Jane
style. The first design of the expanding
collection features Mary Jane shoes in nine warm and vivid Fall/Winter colors
including: Antique Brown, Dark Red Patent, Dark Brown Patent, Black Nubok, Dark
Pink Fuchsia, Brown Cheetah, Purple, Gold, and Silver with approximately 300 strap
styles to customize the basic shoes. Straps
are available in a wide variety of designs including sequins, glitter, flowers,
holidays, and a collection of furry friends. There is even a new bridal collection of classic
Mary Jane shoes in a variety of whites (that can also be dyed) with interchangeable
straps so that flower girls and junior bridesmaids can complement the wedding
party’s colors. Plus, they can change the
strap after the wedding to coordinate other dresses. Thanks to this extensive range, parents now
have the added convenience of matching one pair of shoes with multiple outfits
at home or while traveling.
“My wife and
I came up with the concept of Gigi*s
shoes when our daughter’s new dress for a wedding didn’t quite match her ‘matching’
shoes,” explains co-creator Ariel Rubalcava. We quickly designed a costume strap and she
loved the new look. We instantly knew these shoes would be perfect for little
girls who love to accessorize, play dress-up, or add a little pizzazz to a typically
basic dress shoe. After all, what little
girl doesn’t love that?”
Gigi*s shoes are durable and comfortable, allowing active girls hours
of playtime without worrying about blisters and sore feet. The inside sole is cushioned for comfort and
support, and the backing is made of soft leather that doesn’t dig into the heel.
The non-skid rubber sole helps prevent scuff marks on clean floors.
“These shoes

Gigi*s handmade changeable straps attach to shoes through a sturdy
silver ring to ensure that shoes stay on their feet. A Velcro backing makes it simple for girls to
put on and take off their shoes or switch the strap to create a new look. Straps are available in four sizes, guaranteeing
that all designs are available for every girl aged 4- 10, no matter her shoe size.
Additionally,
Gigi*s is currently working with several
children’s clothing lines to complement their collections with unique designs.

Gigi*s was created by Rita Hernandez and Ariel Rubalcava, veterans
of the entertainment industry who were looking for a way to utilize their creativity
while spending more time with their daughter (nicknamed “Gigi” of course!).
